Mystery, intrigue, and great characters!5
These four books are all about Sally Lockhart and her friends and enemies. Set in historical London, each one has a sparkling plot, great dialogue and a real feel for the period. The only slightly dissapointing book was the Tin Princess. Even though it is written as well as the others, it only really has one of the main characters from the other books in it. Sally Lockhart hardly features at all, and I think that it would have been better written as a seperate book, not part of the series.
Anyway, existing fans of Pullman and all you others, read these books! They're great. (Plus I think that the box set would make a nice present for someone age 10+)
