Useful4
This is a useful guide, ideal for AS-level students, examing The Tempest scene by scene, with a clear explanation of the action. In addition, there is some useful material on contexts in which to read the play - e.g. on the 17th century interest in seafaring and storms. It's a well written, thorough guide, perhaps a little lacking in detailed textual analysis. Possibly the book will actually be more useful for teachers than students, as it gives some handy ideas on what kind of approaches will work. Sound and inexpensive, though.

As the previous reviewer stated, this is a thorough and accessible study guide for A-level students and undergraduates studying The Bard's final play. However, for the price I would recommend 'York Notes' ahead of this as it is more comprehensive, particularly in terms of context.
