Friday nights, the best night of the week, the night they all looked forward to more than they cared to admit - talking, drinking, laughing and crying together. They were six female friends, different in age and circumstances, but with one common need: the warmth and support of their Friday nights. It was a time to share secrets and fears, triumphs and tragedies and, above all, to feel safe in the company of women friends. But things never stay the same forever, especially when a man is introduced into the mix.

Customer Reviews
Friday Nights
I am a fan of Joanna Trollope but this book is a huge disappointment. The characters remained one dimensional, were not at all credible or engaging. It was obvious that aspects of the book had been 'researched' to the hilt, but it lacked both plot and cohesion. Lazy writing from such an accomplished author.
Friday Nights
How I wish I'd read Amazon readers' reviews of this novel before buying it. For weeks I've been forcing myself to 'give it another go' but time after time I've failed to become engrossed in the characters' lives. Such a disappointment from one of my favourite authors.
First of her books that has failed me
I am a Joanna Trollope fan. I have always loved and enjoyed her work. For me, she was an author who could make me think while reading her novels, 'Hey, I've felt like that - these characters are REAL people'. I could hardly wait for this one to be offered for sale. But it's not good or enjoyable at all. The characters are vague and indistinguishable. I found myself flipping back through pages to find out which character was which. I couldn't somehow get interested in their stories and their problems and concerns seemed trivial. For the first time ever, I read a Joanna Trollope novel doggedly, just wanting to get to the end and hoping all the time it might somehow improve. It didn't.
