The Silver Brumby Series
The first time I heard the name Thowra I would guess I was little more than 4 and so lucky to have a sister that wanted to share this book with me. How wondrous, how completely enchanting is the setting, the writing drawing you in introducing you to a completely new world. The images, the sounds, sights all beautifully captured and captivating. Each page read a little faster, each day bringing yet more adventures to our new found friends, the Brumbies.How graceful, elegant, how free they were. Thowra and Storm two newborn foals born into the wild of Bel Bel and Miri sons of proud sire Yarowman. Friends always, brothers together they played unaware that this would all too soon be a very different world for them. Heartrending, heartbreaking and yet so very heartwarming. Thowra the silver brumby with golden main and tail, the pride of his mother, the envy of his own kind,the target of man and his need to possess that which neither should or could ever be tamed.

This book and the following series will stay in my heart always. It was one of the first books I ever truely enjoyed and to this day still do. It truely is a wonder.

The whole series was re-issued by Diamond Books of London in 1993 In 2 issues.

This is the first book of a wonderful series
I first read this book when I was 10 years old and totally fell in love with it. I am now in my twenties and have recently read it again and still loved it. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the Australian countryside and native wildlife. I totally agree with the other readers comments that the books following this one should be published again. I would love to own the whole set and to be able to share these wonderful and exciting stories with my own children in the future.

The Silver Brumby
I read this book and all the others which were available in the series when I was a little girl, aged about 9. I now have a nine year old daughter of my own who is loving every chapter, with the same thrill as I did. I would so love to be able to obtain the other books which were in this series, so that she too can continue to enjoy the adventures and wounder of these fantastic novels. So if anyone wants to sell there copies of the other books please let me know. Publishers please reprint them!!
