Product Description

It is New Year's Eve when the storm of the century hits northern California. In a quiet neighborhood in San Francisco, amid the chaos of fallen trees and damaged homes, the lives of three strangers are about to collide. For Quinn Thompson, what happens in the storm's wake will bring down a barrier he has built around himself since his wife's death. For neighbor Maggie Dartman, it will spark friendship at a time when she needs it most. And for Jack Adams, a carpenter who will repair Quinn's and Maggie's homes, the storm brings an opportunity: to help two people and to be repaid with the greatest gift of all. As three lives come together and a unique friendship is forged, something extraordinary begins to happen...Maggie, still grieving a loss, slowly comes alive again - and Jack finally shares a painful secret he has hidden for years. But at the center of the friendship is Quinn. A man who has scaled heights of success in business, Quinn is now adrift, waiting as builders put the finishing touches on his newest passion, a 180-foot yacht he plans to sail around the world. Looking back at all he missed with his family while he built his empire, Quinn is consumed by guilt, focused only on escaping to the sea. But as his plans near completion, and his friendship with Maggie begins to change, Quinn faces a choice - between a safe haven and an adventure of the heart. The choice he makes will affect other lives as powerfully as his own. And it will take him on an extraordinary journey - and into a second, terrifying storm, one that will bring him danger...or deliverance. Danielle Steel brings us miracles big and small - the kind we are blessed with and those we give to others. With a subtle hand and a flawless touch, she has written a novel that soars with hope, and makes us laugh, cry, and care.

Miracle5
This is a really lovely story full of character and easy to read. All three characters are well written and its a real blow when the book ends. I like Danielle Steel normally but this I think is one of her best and well worth a read.

miracle2
Being a big Danielle Steel fan I was very disaponited in this book. When I recieved the book the first thing I noticed was how short the story was. The story itself was very repetative, a very pleasent story but not up to her usual page turning, can't put the book down sort of story. The first weak book she has written, would not recomend to New and old Danielle Steel fans.

EXCELLENT READ5
Miracle is another excellent novel by Danielle Steel.

Two neighbours that don't know one another end up being brought together in the aftermath of a horrific storm, which takes place on New Years Eve.

Both neighbours have heart breaking stories, Quinn lost his wife and decided to cut himself off from people, he was just living day to day. His neighbour Maggie had lost everything that mattered in her life and was struggling with life itself.

The storm had extensively damaged both houses but Quinn was lucky enough to find an excellent carpenter named Jack Adams who was self employed. The neighbours end up sharing the workman who in turn introduces both Quinn and Maggie to one another. Even Jack himself has a huge problem and has never told anyone as he'd too ashamed!

Quinn wants the house repaired as quick as possible as he wants to sell up and live on his new yacht and explore the world. Maggie hasn't been living in her house that long and the storm dealt her a rotten hand, it left her without any kind of power.

Jack's working late one night and Quinn asks him to stay for a meal. He agrees and happens to tell Quinn that his neighbour is without any kind of energy so she can't have anything hot. Quinn goes to ask Maggie if she'd like to join them, she's reluctant but goes. They all have such an enjoyable time and become friends that it becomes a weekly get together.

I don't want to say anything else about the plot as it would spoil what is such a well written and believable story. :-)

Danielle has taken great care and spent a lot of time making her characters believable; she's given them plenty of depth and great personalities.

I found this book extremely compulsive and very enjoyable. It's definitely a book I'll read again and it was worth every penny. :-)

It's a book I'd recommend to all fans of Danielle Steel. :-)
