Two weeks before her wedding Stevie Jonson has got the jitters. Is she finally growing up, or compromising horribly? In love or in denial? Yes, there are good reasons to get married. Babies, or at least the possibility of babies before eggs shrivel up. Sex whenever she wants it. A justification for staying in without feeling like a loser. Contentment, the shave-legs-in-front-of-him kind. And there are very good reasons not to get married. Not wanting to sleep with him unless nothing on telly. Never sleeping with anyone else ever again. His mother. His new bald patch. Being called, 'my wife.' And the disconcerting reappearance of a former major crush, reminder of everything fiance isn't. As the clock ticks, a shocking secret threatens to bring Stevie's future crashing down around her. A hilarious and heartfelt story about love, marriage and mating and what happens when they refuse to schedule.

ok, very predictable
I have read another book by Polly Williams and loved her column. the other book i read really made me laugh. I didn't find this anywhere near as funny and it was very predictable. I wanted it for ages! It was ok, but i wouldn't rush to recommend. I also bought the Egg Race by Polly Williams, i didn't realise when i bought both books that they were the same book, just re named! So don't be fooled to do the same thing as the Egg Race is still available to buy! Ok, but definately not as good as a yummy mummy.
Annoying
A totally predictable story revolving around the desperate measures all thirty-something women will stoop to in order to get themselves them up the duff. Even the character who said that she never wanted kids, ends up up the duff and is ... guess what ... totally delighted. Meanwhile, back in the real world ....
A Bad Bride's Tale
I've read Polly Williams' first book and while I found it quite enjoyable I did find it a little hard to believe.
I enjoyed A Bad Bride's Tale a lot more. I thought there were believable characters and some thought provoking exploration of the problems facing women.
I would like to see a book like this without a man saving the day and creating the 'happy ending'. I guess that's what the readership wants though!
