Product Description

Daisy Lane returns to her home town of Gosport after a spell abroad. She's been getting over the bad times, having lost both her husband Kenny and her lover Eddie to violent deaths. But in the months away from home Daisy has not been idle - she's given birth to a baby boy, and she's been plotting her revenge on Roy Kemp, the man who killed her lover. But is it possible for a vulnerable woman to take on a man like Roy Kemp and not be badly hurt? Roy's dealings are not confined to London; his reach extends south, right down to the coast. Could he be the man behind the recent slaying of prostitutes? And is the killer of these women also responsible for the two badly abused bodies of young boys that have been found on waste ground in Gosport? Meanwhile Daisy's best friend Vera has given up the life of the streets to run a massage parlour, and policeman DS Vinnie Endersby, on the trail of the Krays in London, finds himself pulled back to Gosport by his powerful attraction to Daisy.

Customer Reviews

Brilliant!!5
I am converted, I love this author and her style of writing and can't wait for more. Thoroughly enjoyed this book along with the previous the only bit i didn't like was coming to the end as i still wanted to read more about Daisy, Vera and even the cats. If anyone normally reads Martina Cole Mandasue Heller then you can add June Hampson to your list you will be glad you did. Next one please June !

Trusting Nobody Leads to Broken Hearts and Bodies4
Tough little cookie Daisy Lane returns to seek her revenge on London gangster Roy Kemp in June Hampson's thrilling follow-on novel.

Set once again in Gosport, Hampshire in the 1960's, after a period away abroad Daisy returns, sets herself up running a bookshop opposite the cafe where she found and lost the love of her life.

With newfound knowledge, Daisy begins the long process of revenge against Roy, with twists, turns, happiness and sadness all down the line.

This sequel has lost none of the grittiness that the debut novel had, and is in itself enough of a story to be read without knowing what had happened previously.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

I loved it5
I loved this book. It states on the cover, as good as Martina Cole or your money back. In fact, I think this book is better than Martina Cole whom I am a real fan. I you want a really good read then this is for you. Although it follows on from her first book you wouldn't need to read this to know what is going on. Lots of twists and turns and a great ending, one I didn't expect.
