Georgie and Flick are a girl's best friend - and secret weapon. Their agency, Domestic Angels, provides invaluable help to armies of harassed women. After years of hard work, Georgie and Flick have built a small but grateful clientele - doing everything from booking the plumber to replacing dead hamsters. Then one evening, they are visited by a pale, nervous-looking woman who makes the strangest request yet. Her husband has combined a take-over with a leg-over. Would Georgie and Flick help her get her own back? It isn't long before word gets out. Inundated with requests from angry wives, Georgie and Flick begin to wonder whether all these men are really as black as they are painted. Meanwhile, the disgruntled husband of a client has rumbled them. It may be that they aren't the only masters of revenge after all...

Best read this summer
The central concept of Getting Mad, Getting Even is brilliant - don't we all have people we'd like to get even with? But of course there's a fine in getting even and going too far, and that is what Georgie and Flick, the two heroines discover when they become Avenging Angels. Both Flick and Georgie are sympathetic, resourceful and completely believable characters who both face their own problems, as well as their client's. The last few pages are hilarious ... anyone making a power point presentation would be advised to check their material before going ahead.
I read this book over two days, sitting in the garden as it happened to be a rare warm weekend. As well as being a fun read, it would also make a great two-part TV series.
a pleasure to read
Once again another fantastic read by Annie Sanders (Annie Ashworth and Meg Sanders) I enjoyed it from page one.. it was impossible to put down as I just wanted to know what was happening next.. if only we could all have friends like Flick and Georgie..
Their best yet!
This was one of those books that I literally couldn't put down. I have loved all of Annie Sanders books, but I honestly think this is one of their best yet - a good believable story, characters you both liked and cared about and a terrific plot with enough twists and turns to maintain interest and keep you guessing. I loved Flick and Georgie and the sense of humour that shone through had me laughing out loud and cheering them on! I would highly recommend this book - it's a winner through and through and I would love it if there was a sequel so we could follow Flick and Georgie's escapades some more! Brilliant writing and a terrific feel-good story - well done Annie Sanders!
