Rejected way too many times by good-looking (and unattainable) guys, shy Riiko Izawa goes online and signs up for a free trial of a mysterious Nightly Lover "figure." The very next day, a cute naked guy is delivered to her door, and he wants to be her boyfriend! Has Riiko died and gone to heaven? The cute guy turns out to be sweet, smart, a great cook, and lots more. And he looks like a million bucks, which is what he's going to cost Riiko if she doesn't return him in time...

About the Author
A manga artist for over ten years, Watase's debut came in 1989 at the age of 18 when her short story PAJAMA DE OJAMA (An Intrusion in Pajamas) appeared in the monthly Shojo Comic manga anthology. Since then she has written and drawn some 50 volumes worth of different short stories and long-running manga series, including the fantastically popular FUSHIGI YUGI, also available in English from VIZ. Her works have provided the basis for two television series, an OVA series, anime soundtrack CDs, and a string of novels.
Customer Reviews
Sweet yet something didn't feel right (spoiler)
I am a huge Yuu Watase fan and this was for me one of her best works yet. I loved the characters and the storyline was quite original and interesting. The only thing that bugged me was the ending. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it isn't such a good manga because it ended badly. I'm saying the ending for this book seemed somehow forced, whereas if the manga had finished in 5 it'd have felt something a tad more final. Instead we see the girl supposingly ending up with the one she rejected instead of Night. It would have made more sense if she had picked him from the start, but the one she loved was Night.
I rest my case. I loved the series and hope to read more from this mangaka.
was that it?
This series started off really well, the story was catching and interesting and i felt compelled to read on.
unfortunately I was disappointed with the final book, the ending seemed rushed and abrupt and i got to it thinking is that it? as the story finishes half way through the book, and the rest of the manga is some other story about totally different characters!
I don't know about everyone else, but when you pay the same price for this book as you have for the other 5, to me i feel a bit ripped off, seeing as i only got half a book of story.
Riiko seemed very emotionless in parts of this to me, like there should have been more due to the circumstances. in saying that, I wouldn't say don't read this, but don't expect anything amazing.
