Synopsis
Ex cop Jack Talbot exists on the fringes of the south London criminal underworld, working for local villain Eddie Falcon. When Falcon offers him a job driving a diamond courier across the city, little does Talbot know the extent his life will be affected. When the courier is murdered, Talbot is plunged into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, unwittingly drawn further into an escalating web of violence that not only threatens him, but those closest to him. Implicated in the murder of the courier and pursued by the police, Talbot will need all his latent skills, not just to survive, but to uncover the extent of the ruthless game in which he has become a player. From the crime-ridden streets of London to the vibrant city of Antwerp, this high-octane thriller hurtles at break-neck speed from its violent beginning to final, bloody conclusion.

An exciting new voice in British crime fiction
I picked this up in a local book store, primarily because it was by a local writer, but as crime fiction is one of my favourite genres, I thought I would give it a try. This is a really good book and I would recommend it to readers who enjoy fast paced action thrillers. The central character and his motives are quite complex and it isn't necessarily easy to like or relate to him at the beginning, but the central themes of loyalty, love, betrayal and revenge essentially mean he is on the side of the angels. I have since found out a little bit about the author through my library and he has a website, www.timphilipsonline.co.uk and a second book due out next summer. I for one can't wait....
Outstanding New talent
I am always keen to read new authors and was not disappointed by this exceptional book. Fast moving and twisting plot with realistic characters. Will personally recommend this book to any one I speak to. Cant wait for the new one,.
An engrossing read
This book was a recommendation and this is my first review, which I think says a lot about the impact of the story. The book has a complex plot that is supported by superb storytelling. I'm looking forward to Mr Philips' next book.
