Haunting and memorable
This is one of the most haunting books I have read and I know I will read it again in the future. Lee Langley writes effortlessly with real emotion. Her description of a wife who has not communicated properly in years with her husband is memorable. Highly recommended.
Beautiful and disturbing
I came across this book by accident, and for the first 50 pages or so I was not exactly riveted, but I found myself being gradually drawn into the story, so that by the end I was spellbound. My main criticism was the use of flashbacks, which makes the story quite difficult to follow in parts. You don't know which decade you are in, half the time.
All the same, it is a moving story - some would say depressing.
