Last book by an over looked genius
Belshazzar is the final book written by Rider Haggard. It was written in 1924 but not published until 1930, 5 years after the authors death. The story moves between Egypt and Babylon finishing at the biblical feast of Belshazzar (The writing on the wall), however it is more of a typical Rider Haggard Egyptian book along the line of "Cleopatra, "Morning Star" or "The Ancient Allan" than a biblical tale. There are plenty of thrills throughout and the conclusion is typically wonderful. This book is extremely hard to find second hand (it has hardly been reprinted since 1930) so this wildside edition is very welcome.
