Lorna Sage was Dean of the School of English and American Studies at the University of East Anglia. Before she died in 2001 her memoir BAD BLOOD won the Whitbread Biography Prize. Ali Smith's most recent novel, THE ACCIDENTAL, was short listed for the Booker.

An essential resource
This book is an excellent collection of critical essays written on the work of Carter, dealing with many of the prevalent issues in her fiction.

I used this book as a resource in a University literature module and found 100% of the information and thoughts in these collected essays both invaluable but also very thoughtful. I would greatly recommend this book for anybody wishing to look in closer detail at the disturbing work of Angela Carter.
