hostile takeover5
eighth and last [although a second season is on the way] in the first season of audio adventures for the eighth doctor who and his companion, feisty northern girl lucie miller. These cd's contain stories that are either complete in fifty minutes or are two parters. Just like the current tv series.

This is the conclusion of a two part story, that also brings all the ongoing story arcs that have run throughout this season to a head.

See the review of part one for some of the plot details. It ended on a big cliffhanger with the unexpected arrival of an old foe [I won't give it away, but they are on the box] and now the doctor has to fight to save lots of lives. And discover the truth about lucie.

There's a lot to get through in this one, and it doesn't disappoint. It isn't quite as good a second parter as blood of the daleks part two as there's a lot going on in it and it gets a bit crowded, but it's still a very satisfying epic. I look forward to further adventures from this tardis crew, because they have a wonderful chemistry together. The cd does end with a trailer for them, and a trailer for the forthcoming the girl who never was. Which is the final story featuring the eighth doctor's earlier companion charley. I just thought to mention this because it doesn't say 'coming soon from big finish' before these, so you might get confused.

Don't get this in isolation, as you'll get more from them by hearing them in order. Start with blood of the daleks part one

End of Season Finale5
Better than part 1, I was a bit let down by the cyber-voices in parts, as they could be a bit muffled, but on the whole I thought this was a very good production.

The Script writing is better in this episode than in the first, and this episode also makes more sense of the story-arc as well. It seem's I always enjoy McGann's doctor, it's a shame we will probably never see or hear an eigth/ninth doctor regeneration scene.

This is a well written and gripping plot, which is well worth a listen. It's infused with all the usual suspense and terror.
