Product Description

Based on a true story, Endurance is a gruesome and live demonstration of survival of the fittest, centred around a car yard in an everyday suburb (Lower Hutt), where a struggling car dealership stages
an endurance competition in which a "brand new Ford Explorer"
will be given to whoever can keep their hand on the vehicle the
longest. Drawn into this Darwinian contest are people from every
walk of life, who for one reason or another - avarice, poverty, anger,
revenge, despair, loyalty, love - see their salvation in winning the car.
Endurance pits all these motivations against each other, and in an
unintended and gruelling social experiment, reveals which of these is
the most enduring.
At the same time, the contest serves as a metaphor for all the ways in
which the characters, in their private lives, are enduring some kind of
personal ordeal, whether it be disability, an unfulfilling job, old age, a
loveless marriage, widowhood, loneliness, poverty, or any number of
other workaday struggles.
