Product Description

They can hack any computer, break any code, take out bad guys with SleepShot from two hundred metres, and vanish utterly without trace. The one thing Bond Team haven't got their heads round is, er, bonding. Jake and Ben want to kill each other, Jen thinks Lori is an airhead bimbo, and the only thing Eddie respects about Cally is her butt. All this is very bad news. Because if they don't get it together for their first term exams, if they can't defeat the infamous Stromfeld Program, then they can forget about ever graduating Spy High. And with a mind-wipe greeting all those who flunk out, we mean that quite literally. The SPY HIGH series continues with: 2.THE CHAOS CONNECTION (May '03), 3. THE SERPENT SCENARIO (Jul '03), 4. THE PARANOIA PLOT (Sep '03), 5. THE SOUL STEALERS (Nov '03), 6. THE ANNIHILATION AGENDA (Jan '04)

Nice change to the teen spy books.4
This is a nice change to the normal theme of the teen spy books. Spy High is very fast, fun and has the reader on the edge of the seat. No vulgar words or mention of drugs just good teenager fun.
I recommend to all between 8-14.The only downside is that its a little short.

A lttle too formulaic.3
Welcome to Devereux college the most exclusive school of the future, where the sweet old receptionist can kill you in six different ways using only her hands. Christened Spy High by the students that go there, this book revolves around this year's students especially the Bond group of Cally a high tech girl genius, Lori who is more than a pretty face, Jennifer who could be related to Bruce Lee, Eddie the joker, Jake a brooding country boy, and the impossibly arrogant and rich Ben their leader.

There are some nice touches in this book especially naming all the teams after ficitonal spies and the futuristic setting works well, but you can't help but wish that the author had spent more time on the characters than inventing futuristic gizmos like laser rifles, radar vision and sleepshot. Younger readers will love this as it combines all the elements of a Junior James Bond film.

The plot is simple to complete the year the Bond team must defeat a virtual reality programme pitting them against super villain Stromfield. After they fail their first attempt the cracks in Bond team start to appear they must join together and forget their differences to complete the year, so they are sent on a team bonding exercise. On their team camping trip they are attacked by genetic mutations and must band together for real to save the world from the demented Dr Frankenstein.

This might turn out to be a great series once the character backgrounds are fully formed but at the moment it is of interest to boys and young readers only.

Slow at first.....but then picked up pace!3
I bought this book in the shops! I love spy books, especially Anthony Horowitz and Robert Muchamore, and when I saw this book I had to have it!!!

Immiediately, you would think spy books are for boys only...but they're not!!!

This book has six characters: 3 boys and 3 girls!!
The characters include:
Ben: who I really hated! Until the end!! He is arrogant and likes to be a winner! He always likes to be the one who recieves all glory!

Lori: who is a pretty girl, but is fed up and whats to show that she is more than that!

Eddie: who likes the ladies!!! He is a bit of a charmer and likes to be funny!

Cally: Who is a super computer whizz!

Jake: Who despises Ben! He is good at fighting and never gives up!

Jennifer: Who is really good at the craft of fighting!

The book is split into two parts.

The first part introduces the characters and explains how they became pupils at Spy High: also known as Deveraux College. This first part was rather slow and I was dissapointed. However, I carried on reading.

As soon as i started the second part, which shows the charcters on their first mission, I couldn't put the book down!!! The pace was much Quicker and was really exciting!

I think this book is a good read. You may be dissapointed at first, but it's really quite good! I will definitely be buying the second book!
