A Perfect Little Feel-Good Book
LEAVING WINTER tells the story of Cordelia and Frank, two lonely people who are isolated because of their physical appearances--she is overweight, he is severely scarred. They meet in Rome one Christmas, and tentatively move toward friendship and love.
This is a perfect little book for banishing the frigid winter weather raging outside. After you read it, then re-read it, you'll want to share it with all your women friends.
Curl up by the fire with this book!
What an enjoyable read! It really is a heartwarming story--so much so that I'll be buying it for several friends and relatives for Christmas! If you enjoy stories about characters that are incredibly REAL, this is the book for you--they were so easy to relate to.
A Pleasure To Read
Powerful, moving, funny and heart-rending, Kathleen Quinn's wonderfully written Leaving Winter held me enthralled to the very last word. This is a writer of substance, with much to say about the human condition. The story is that of the finely-drawn Cordelia and Frank, who find each other in the face of the injuries life has inflicted on them. A journey into the heart, that left me feeling uplifted and deeply moved. Can't wait for her next book!
