Synopsis
The spirit of a semi-dead boy makes good in this adaptation of the young-adult novel by Swedish author Mats Wahl. A privileged and not very well-liked senior in his Seattle high school, brooding poet Nick (Justin Chatwin) is blamed for ratting out tough girl Annie (Margarita Levieva) to the cops for a jewellery heist. Soon his spirit is running loose trying to connect with the people around him, but only animals seem to notice; everyone else just goes about their business. Meanwhile, his body is lying concealed in a sewer tunnel and Annie is the only one "invisible" enough to understand his pain.

There’s a little blood here and there but overall this little TWILIGHT ZONE-ish tale is perfectly fine for the whole family, with some moral lessons about responsibility and the importance of emotional honesty. There’s enough damp Seattle mood to keep one watching, and Levieva brings a wealth of charisma and charm to her street-urchin role. Lots of great mopey alterna-rock on the soundtrack from the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, TV On the Radio, and Broken Social Scene keep the teen angst ratcheted to a sufficiently operatic high throughout.

Brilliant5
I disagree with the other reviews here. This is not a cheap horror flick, no gore and blood, but a well crafted film, well acted and credible and likeable characters.

Levieva is a delight!!

Not to be missed.

A poor imitation of Sixth Sense2
I have no problem with anyone taking the basic storyline used by Sixth Sense and putting a different slant on it to the point where it's something new and original. Just because Sixth Sense made famous the "main character coming back as a ghost" plot doesn't mean no film should ever be allowed to take on a similar theme, as long as it has something different to offer the viewer. Potentially, The Invisible does have something new in that it makes the central character critically wounded rather than dead. His spirit then desperately tries to enter the physical world so that his body can be found before it's too late. So far, so good. But the film blows it by making the central character very shallow and not someone you can warm to. In addition to this the whole film has a very cold and impersonal feel to it and is completely bereft of any emotion whatsoever. By the time the film finishes, with an ending that's very predictable, you're just glad the whole thing's finally over.

Disney Could Have Done Better !!2
Very disappointing - the whole idea of the movie was very good - it just did'nt gel together and you have to like at least one character - NONE were likeable , not even the guy dying and the so called hero of the movie as well !! It says "from the producers of The Sixth Sense" - that was a great movie , this one was more like a cheap TV afternoon matinee .
