i´m thinking about giving this one a second chance because the first time I read it I hated.

I loved Faber´s writing style but... let´s face it: the plot was very weak for its almost 900 pages.

An original premise but it became another tear-jerker like so many others.

Different in a bad aspect from what I tought! I didn´t like any characters from this book.

I read this several years ago but I remember that at the time I didn´t understood why all the hype about this one!

Zadie Smith has a great writing style but i didn´t feel much compelled to read this one.

I didn´t finish this because I found it pretty dull.

The cover and the title may lead you in error but don´t expect this one to be similar to Joanne Harris or Sue M. Kidd novels. Some parts are funny but the plot is very weak and the characters dreadful

The frustrated try of France to make Brazil their colony. This book had received " Le Prix Goncourt " but the plot isn´t very engaging. Very disappointing.

Quite dull actually but forgivable when we remind this is the first effort as a novel from the young authors.

I bought this one after I heard Isegawa being praised as the african Garcia Marquez/ Salman Rushdie. Believe me when I say that who said that was completely wrong.

Reverte tries to be Melville , Eco and Dan Brown but ultimately fails at all.
