Good Children's Novels
SabrielSabriel by Garth Nix
Buy new: £5.00 / Used from: £0.01
This is an interesting book, beginning a very good trilogy of children's books. It's fantasy adventure, about necromancy and undead things. Garth Nix is a great author.
Wolf Brother: Chronicles of Ancient Darkness Book 1Wolf Brother: Chronicles of Ancient Darkness Book 1 by Michelle Paver
Buy new: £6.99 / Used from: £0.01
Probably my favourite children's book, Wolf Brother is another great start to another great series. Also fantasy, this book is mainly about clans and spirits.
Half Moon InvestigationsHalf Moon Investigations by Eoin Colfer
Buy new: £11.69 / Used from: £0.01
Eoin Colfer is an extremely good author. I love his Aretenis Fowl series, but I think that Half Moon Investigations is much funnier.
Across the Wall: A Tale of the Abhorsen and Other StoriesAcross the Wall: A Tale of the Abhorsen and Other Stories by Garth Nix
Buy used from: £0.86
Another good book by Garth Nix, with a nice mix of different genre stories. If you liked Sabriel, then you would probably like this too, as it has one story featuring the same characters.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time: Children's EditionThe Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time: Children's Edition by Mark Haddon
Buy new: £5.99 / Used from: £0.01
Maybe this book is for slightly older (teenage) readers, but I think it is a good book none the less. It's a rather sad story, though. A good read.
The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials): His Dark Materials 2The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials): His Dark Materials 2 by Philip Pullman
Buy new: £4.63 / Used from: £0.01
Pullman is amazing. This trilogy is brilliant, but I like this one the most, as Will, my favourite character is introduced. Some of the ideas are quite scary, though.
Ptolemy's Gate (Bartimaeus Trilogy)Ptolemy's Gate (Bartimaeus Trilogy) by Jonathan Stroud
Buy new: £5.24 / Used from: £0.52
Another interesting trilogy. It's funny, and is written brilliantly, and the cover is good too. The end is really good also. A great way to end the trilogy.
EldestEldest by Christopher Paolini
Buy new: £5.21 / Used from: £0.04
This book, and its prequel, are both great. Eragon and Eldest are really good, and definately worth reading. Don't let the shoddy film put you off.
The Pig ScrollsThe Pig Scrolls by Paul Shipton
Buy new: £4.49 / Used from: £0.01
This book is REALLY funny, interesting, witty and well... good! It's set in ancient Greece and the main character is a talking pig who loves pies. Get the picture?
