Healthy Cooking never tasted so great!!
I bought this "George" (as I affectionately call it) only a week ago. My mother in law has one of the ordinary ones and she loves it but I never had a fancy for one until I saw this and realised that I could cook a whole meal or a whole breakfast on it (the first one to be able to cook eggs!). It is rather large in size, so I think you would need a generous counter top to accommodate it but otherwise it is a fabulous buy. I have cooked steak, gammon and chicken on the grill part and mushrooms, hash browns, fritters, onions and peppers on the griddle side, it takes only a few minutes and the taste was out of this world. I cannot wait until the weekend to try a full cooked breakfast on it, eggs and all!! It is surprising how much fat it drains out of your food, when you are cooking with no fat on the griddle to start with, just a light brush of cooking oil or olive oil onto the surfaces to stop things sticking, but still has a huge amount of taste. It is so easy to clean too. The surfaces just need wiping with hot soapy water and the utensils and container that collects the fat are all dishwasher safe!

Amazing!
Amazing! Just cooked our first meal on this little beauty and what a treat! We cooked steak, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and eggs with pancakes to follow. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was nice to see the fat draining into a drip tray, rather than going down our throats. The only downside was the eggs and pancakes did tend to end up a funny shape because the griddle is ever so slightly sloped (to allow fat drainage). I'd rather that though than smother everything in cooking oil in a pan! It is a fairly big piece of equipment so you'll need plenty of work-surface space and/or storage. Cleaning was a doddle, a damp sponge or cloth was all it took to remove the grease/burnt deposits. A good buy in my mind, it will definatly not be collecting dust in this house!

Bought 'our george' in May so been using it for over a month. Absolutely great, easy to use so even I can use it and I don't do the cooking, but more importantly it's so easy to clean, even when you forget to 'grease' the surfaces as advised. Two things to bear in mind when buying this product, firstly the size no matter where you see it - when you get it and unpack it and put it on your work surface it's big (lengthways) and we were a little disappointed with the information provided. Secondly the instruction guide was a little disappointing as it gives the cooking times for majority of foods but not the temperature guide. The dials go from 1-3 so you tend to have it on 3 and end up overcooking, we've found most foods only have to be on 2 but a little more information in the booklet would have been better but as these are the only two down sides and easily rectified I would certainly recommend this Grill & Griddle.
