Removable Plates
Why didn't I read the earlier reviews. this GF has been a disaster. Like another reviewer we abandoned a fixed plate grill which wore out for the easily cleaned removable plates. It takes ages to warm up, and it is warm rather than hot. It doesn't grill it bakes! Avoid!

Great grill.
Never thought I'd find use, or get the wife to eat grilled veg, but she eats it all. Kids love the low fat cooking of thier burger treat! As the removeable plates are aluminium, do not dishwasher them unless you want the underside to discolour! The none stick surface actually wipes clean when cold, then a warm wash in wash up liquid.

We now grill most of our food.

Dishwasher Warning
This is a very good grill, however, there is a problem with the grill plates when put in the dishwasher. Unless you use a a very specific detergent and use the top basket in the dishwasher, the metal on the back of the plates (not the cooking side) goes black / grey and a powder comes of it - this makes an incredible amount of mess. I am currently in dispute with the manufacturers, who admit they are aware of the problem, and there is only ONE dishwasher detergent they have found which does not cause this problem. I wont name it here, but I think it is the most expensive one there is.

The fact that only one detergent does not cause this problem tells me that the problem is one for George Foreman to sort out with regards to the materials used to manufacture the plates.

Like I said, an excellent grill, but not ideal for dishwashers.
