Product Description

Personally supervised by Bruce Springsteen and Jon Landau, the box set includes "Hammersmith Odeon, london '75," an astonishing film of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's legendary 1975 concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in London; the new film "Wings for Wheels: The Making of Born to Run;" the classic album in remastered cd form; and finally, a 48 page booklet of previously unpublished photographs. With its two dvds, the package offers approximately four hours of previously unseen footage.

Spanning roughly two hours and ten minutes, the November 18, 1975 concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon finds an epic performance of sixteen Bruce Springsteen classics, including "Thunder Road," "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out," "Jungleland," and "Born to Run", as well as such other favourites such as "Kitty's Back" and "Rosalita". The multiple-camera film of the complete concert will be available in its entirety and its original sequence, as newly edited by emmy award winner Thom Zimny. "Hammersmith Odeon, London '75" is the only full-length concert film ever released of Bruce and the E Street Band's first 25 years.

The ninety-minute documentary "Wings for Wheels: The Making of Born to Run" chronicles the definitive story of the creation of Born to Run, from songwriting to production and beyond. "Wings for Wheels" boasts archival film never shown publicly, including substantial footage of Springsteen and the E Street Band recording the album, 1975 concert film and other footage shot between 1973 and 1975. The film also features exclusive footage of Springsteen playing solo piano and guitar versions of songs from Born to Run.

'Cause Tramps Like Us, Baby, We Were BORN TO RUN......'5
Whether you own the original, or not - Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born To Run, 30th Anniversary Edition’ is simply not to be missed.
Lavishly presented in a box set this would make THE ideal Christmas present for ‘The Boss’ fan who has everything, and with ‘never seen before footage’ of around four hours, who can resist the lure, even if for oneself!
Along with the remastered album comes a DVD of the making of the album, a DVD of the November 18th 1975 Hammersmith Odeon, London concert and a 48 page booklet of newly-released photographs of BS and the E Street Band.
Best price, as usual, on Amazon, today AND ON free DELIVERY TOO!

As good as it gets, but better...5
Finally the world is ready for the bargain of the year!!! What a package! The big surprise is the documentary DVD 'Wheels for Wheels',where Director Thom Zimmy has really done an Oscar-winning job instead of the usual tosh that passes as a rock documentary - this is right up there with No Direction Home, and is worth the price of admission alone. If any of you reading this bought the recent copy of 'Uncut' magazine in which the writer trashes the Hammersmith Odeon show featured in this package, simply ignore his poorly-researched ramblings. And cancel your suscription. The show is magnificent and the audience loved it, even Steven Van Zandt's Saturday Night Fever clothes. To sum up, this sets the gold standard for all future CD/DVD reissues and will take some beating. Oh and the songs are good, too.

Forgotten Treasure5
Most fans will buy this 3 part package primarily for the Hammersmith concert, and for good reason. Bruce Springsteen and a newly re-shuffled E Street band had just finished recording the album and turned up for their first concert in Europe after a lot of hype surrounding their release. The concert that followed silenced critics and launched his career. What you have is a band that gels extremely well, an amazingly good sound quality and an unihibited voice. Songs such as "For You" and the "Shuffle" are played and sung in a totally different manner. The power that every song transmits is awsome. I have never seen Bruce Springsteen so inspired, nor before nor after this concert. The only complaint I have is the low lighting throughout.

The Wings for Wheels shows rare footage of the recording of that album which took over a year to finish. It leaves every question you might have asked about the album answered with a description of the recording and background of every song. It also contains three live songs from 1973 with Vini Mad Lopez on drums. Inspired, especially on "Thundercrack".

The CD itself is supposed to be re-mastered but personally the reason for buying the set is the Hammersmith concert.
