life-changing inspiration
A-MAZING! TRUELY LIVE-CHANGING - i cn't say more! a must for anyone even vaguely interested in how a relationship with Jesus Christ could change their lives!
wonderful reading/listening
Had this book and DVD (two of) for about 6 months now, and it starts with Genesis (in fact there's a lot of it about genesis - an the Fall of man). and goes from there.
One of the key topics in this DVD/Book, is that "LIFE CAN NOT BE FOUND WITHOUT GOD So true!, and there are no insignificant numbers of people round the world who think life can be found without got. It's foolishness on the level of virtuosity
There are 8 "half hour" sessions and i've seen each one "several times". I know selwyn from the late 70's early 80's, and read lots of his books/tapes and readings (everyday with Jesus), and he really was a man - totally inspired by God, who overcame much personal family tragedy, to bring, not only wonderfull material like this, but scores of books - each as good as the other.
HIGHLY recommended (as indeed all his other books)

Very Disappointing; Not Recommended
The writer built his 'ministry' (a 'counsellor training' company) on a suicide while he was working as a pastor. Doubtless others would have concluded that they weren't suitable for pastoral work, but it seems the writer, a former gangster, was (stubbornly?) determined to be a 'Bible Teacher' nonetheless. Yet in the book he says he doesn't know "whether the universe is God's body, or is separate from God's body".
Some of the main messages in this book can be summed up as: read the Bible regularly; if you're a Christian, you can choose; emotions can be reduced to a simple exercise of identifying goals. Scant mention of creativity, design thinking or memory. Part of the problem with this approach is that the Bible itself is holistic in its treatment of men and women: it doesn't separate out the emotions, the will etc and tell us how they function as compartmentalized units. Thus it seems unscientific to try to force the Bible to do so.
To conclude, if you're after a flat, robotic, tunnel vision lifestyle, this book might appeal to you. But I say you're better off taking his 'just take it from me' attitude (expect just about every 'insight' is presented obsequiously and without justification) with a huge pinch of salt.
