Useful collection
I have seen some complaints that this is a case of Osprey trying to make more money from the same material. Leaving aside the question of whether that is especially reprensible or simply good business practice I have to say that it seems to me to be the opposite as it would cost more to separately buy the constituent books that make up this volume.

What the purchaser should be aware of is that the title is slightly misleading. Only the last third of the book is directly devoted to the events of 1453. The middle third is a comprehensive overview of the walls and fortifications of the city and the opening is a necessarily less detailed run through the previous thousand years of the history of the great city and its empire.

There are plenty of photographs and maps plus the usual Osprey original artwork from a variety of their better known illustrators.
