Synopsis
"On Your Bike!" is a visually stunning book that truly captures the spirit of cycling in the twenty-first century. Warmly and accessibly written by author and Guardian columnist Matt Seaton, this is a brand new take on cycling that will appeal to anyone who has ever experienced the thrill and the freedom of the open road. Filled with great graphics and illustrations of cycling through the ages, as well as film posters, vintage advertising, and beautiful photography, "On Your Bike!" takes the reader on a scintillating freewheelin' ride. With chapters on maintenance, cycle sport and urban cycling, this book covers all of today's key biking issues. The bicycle has played a unique part in human civilisation, it has travelled the world and, in its time, carried entire nations to work and sometimes even to war. "On Your Bike!" chronicles this cultural and social history of the bicycle, one of the most popular inventions of all time. "On Your Bike!" also looks to the future, raising pertinent questions about what governments and cyclists could be doing to further enhance cycle awareness and cycle safety. A comprehensive resource that should be in every cyclists' saddlebag, "On Your Bike!" is an engrossing book that should thrill both veteran and novice alike.

Excellent book
Yes, this covers just about everything, including some of the softer aspects - what it feels like to be on a bike, and what it's *really* all about. There's just enough detail to keep all levels interested. In fcat, I've just returned to reading it, and find it even better the second time around.
