Product Description

Princereigns Ingrown Hair Serum is a premium product for the treatment of ingrown hair, dark spots and blemishes. This unique formula contains natural ingredients and works by softening and straightening hairs. It is an effective after care product that hydrates and smooths the skin after waxing, shaving or any form of hair removal. Princereigns Ingrown Hair Serum is a unisex product. The serum is dispensed via a pump from a 60ml glass bottle. And because it is a serum the product lasts a remarkably long time depending on the application. As an example it can be used on the face and neck area for men and for women the bikini area, underarm, legs, and eyebrow. The medical term for ingrown hair is Pseudofolliculitis Barbae, which refers to inflammation caused by cut hairs growing back under the skin or curling back into the skin.  The condition is generally caused by shaving which leaves the ends of the hair sharp; and in many cases forces the hair to grow under the skin causing irritation.  The condition affects both men and women. For people with white skin small red or dark spots may appear and for those with darker or black skin an increase in pigmentation may be visible. Unfortunately there is no real cure for ingrown hair other than to stop shaving, or possibly using laser type treatments. However, it can be treated and for many this starts with good hygiene, choosing the right type of: shaver/hair removing product, an aftershave or post wax treatment, followed by a good quality moisturiser. For best results: If you wet shave consider the blade, too sharp and this may lead to hair being cut below the skin, particularly for people with darker skin. For black men consider a product like Wahl's Afro range of shavers. After hair removal apply Princereigns morning and night to clean dry skin. Many customers see direct results within 2-3 days. This product is increasingly being used at Beauty Salons, Spas and Hotels. RRP: £24.95

Customer Reviews

Princereigns - It's a product that works for me5
I have been using this product for well over a year on my face and neck, which is where I get ingrown hairs as a result of shaving. A combination of this product and a change in shaving technique (I now use a trimmer instead of a razor) I have effectively erradicated the condition. However, I still apply Princereigns Ingrown Hair Serum once a day using my hands, mostly in the morning after a shave. That said, initially I did follow instructions to apply morning and night. For me a 60ml bottle lasts between 6-8 weeks. I must say I'm still baffled as to how the product is dispensed, initially it looked as if it was never ending but later noticed that the inside base rises as you dispense (you'll see what I mean when you use it). It goes on smooth with a cooling effect, its not greasy and it does not sting or stink in any way. By the way I'm not alone, my wife also uses it after waxing and praises this product. I hope it works for you.

Does not work for me1
I have been waxing for about 10 years and for the past 5 years I've been having it done professionally. Nonetheless, I suffer from terrible ingrown hairs. Some on my legs but the bikini line is the worst. It's been getting progressively worse over the years and is now actually quite visible to the naked eye. As I was planning a holiday to a tropical island, I was desperate to make the spots go away. I used the serum for 4 weeks, applying it every morning and evening on clean skin, as directed. Some days I thought I could see some improvement but it was more because I so desperately wanted to see it! After 4 weeks I still had just as many ingrown hairs as before I started using this product. I've now reverted to the old fashioned (and free) way of getting rid of ingrown hairs, which is exfoliating regularly. I get the impression that that seems to have some effect, although I might be imagining this as well.

Maybe this product works if you have a mild case of ingrown hairs, but if it's severe, I really don't think this product is going to help you. It didn't help me anyway.

Expensive, and not massively effective2
I bought this serum because I have problems with ingrown hairs after epilating. The description said it would stop ingrowing hairs coming through and fade the scars left from them. It recommended to apply it twice a day to start off with and results can be seen in a few days for some people, more for others. It said that a little goes a long way with such a small bottle but I've had it about 2 weeks, and if i had continued to use it twice a day i'm pretty confident it'd be empty by now.
It has faded the scars very slightly and I would say the ingrown hairs are not as deep since using this product, although I still have to break the skin to pull them out which again causes the skin to blemish.
I should think with continued use this product would fulfill its expectations, but i'm not willing to spend that sort of money to find out! I will be focusing on exfoliating well and moisturising til i find a better product.
