A fantastic science fiction/fantasy title. Mieville will suck you into a world that is totally believable and full of detail and hold onto you until the final page. An excellent start.

Follow the narrators development in her first year of college and the relationship she develops with her TA. Beautifully told, the emotions portrayed are real and moving.

If you are off to Uni you need this book. It will give you a grounding in every idea that you'll need, it will open up your mind. Otherwise just read this book to expand how you think. Brilliant.

bed time, on a train, on the beach, entertaining and full of brilliant reveals. My favourite of Gaimen and Pratchett.

I had to read this for an A level but I've come to love it. The film did it absolutely no justice.
