Synopsis
Documentary that looks at the art of Parkour, in which participants make a series of breathtaking leaps over rooftops and various obstacles. The basic concept is to move through space in the most efficient manner possible, and in the fastest time. Though aesthetically similar, this practice differs from Free Running in that it doesn't allow for showy acrobatic manoeuvres; it's more about economy of movement than creative expression. Done well, both techniques should appear graceful, effortless, and inspire a sense of liberation.

parkour documentary
I'd heard of parkour before but wasn't sure exactly what it was. When I spotted the name on here I thought "why not?" and bought it.
It turned out to be a great buy! I can definately say I have a much better 'parkour knowledge' now. It was well explained and interesting to hear about the various different aspects.
It kept me entertained throughout with a nice balance between informative and some very impressive action scenes.
Whether you're a parkour fanatic or someone who's never heard of it, it's certainly a worthwhile watch.

Parkour: Way of Life
I thought it was a really great documentary on Parkour. I wouldn't have done it any differently. Its got a good combination of interviews from the public and Parkour people. I love the soundtrack and also the fact that they teach you some parkour. Its a very enlightening AND fun documentary to watch! great stuff!!

Mental!
This was actually quite good and really quite enjoyable. I spent a lot of the time watching it thinking either that these people are nuts, or I want to do that. Some of the stuff these guys were doing were awesome, amazing things. The discipline and the fearlessness was mind-blowing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in street stunts, free running, documentaries, and/or watching people do cool stuff.

It's only 45 mins long, but goes through what seems to be a reasonably detailed outline of the beginnings of parkour and the mentality that's behind it. Plus, there's plenty of footage of cool, unbelieveable tricks. I would go so far as to say that it could be pretty inspiring to some people.

The only reason I dropped a star is the fact that the boy presenting is really young and at times I found it hard to take him seriously. He spent a lot of time talking about state of mind and he looks like he's only about 16/17. I would have preferred a slightly older narrator, but that's just a personal thing and it shouldn't stop anyone from watching this because it truly is worth a look.
