Excellent debate on the colonialist and diffusionist mindset5
An extremely well-presented debate on Blaut's thesis that the rise of Europe from the late 15th century onwards was far more to do with greed, aggression, exploitation and warmongering (along with a little luck), than the commonly expounded notion of innate European superiority.
The book includes Blaut's original paper, along with two essays each from supporters and critics. An altogether splendid read.
