Customer Reviews

Healthy, inspiring recipes which taste suprisingly good.5
The best cookbook I have read, its primary concern is your health, yet none of the recipes compromise on good taste.

A useful introduction explains the importance of a healthy diet and how best to achieve this. Unlike many "healthy" cookbooks which use sugar, fatty meats, deep fat frying, and high gluten foods in recipes The Optimum Nurition Cookbook is solely focused on foods that do you good. Inspiring recipes with a smidgen of exotic ingredients combine to make wholesome meals with a little difference, which have you coming back for more.

Gone are the days when you force cereal down yourself at breakfast, and in comes the ultimate power breakfast - a fruit and seed yoghurt smoothie which takes minutes to make. Breakfast for me is now something to look forward to. The main course meals and desserts would impress any dinner party guest.

Not an inspiring cookbook1
I ordered this book full of excited anticipation, as I am a big fan of Patrick Holford and his outstanding nutritional expertise. I had read the other review and as I am not a vegan I was looking forward to some super recipes. I was disappointed to find that most of the recipes used ingredients that just aren't easily available. Most recipes would entail a jaunt to at least three different shops for me. I was expecting to find recipes that involved "everyday" foods that I can buy in my supermarket. The recipes are very impressive for "dinner party types" but not for everyday cooking. I also returned this book (hardback - cost about a fiver to return!) So unless you fancy quail & quinoa , I'd think carefully about buying this one! Or get it from the Library before you buy!

The Optimum Nutrition Cookbook5
This is a superb recipe book. It is easy to follow and the recipes I have followed so far looked just like the pictures! The food content codes really help ensure you eat a balanced diet.

The only disappointment is that there are nt enough vegetarian recipes but otherwise a splendid book, I have now bought four copies of it as friends keep taking mine!
