The Challenge of Islam to Christians is David Pawson's most important - and most controversial - prophetic message to date. Moral decline and erosion of a sense of ultimate truth has created a spiritual vacuum in the United Kingdom. David Pawson believes Islam is far better equipped than the Church to move into that gap and it will not be long before it becomes the country's dominant religion.
Based on the audio and video recordings on which he first announced his message, this book unpacks and explains the background behind Pawson's claims, and - crucially - sets out a positive blueprint for the Church's response. Christians must rediscover and demonstrate to society the three qualities that make Christianity unique: Reality, Relationship and Righteousness.

Customer Reviews
Courageous wake-up call to Christians.
Having studied Christianity and Islam for some time, I eagerly purchased this book with a keen sense of anticipation to read the author's own personal analysis of Islam.
Other studies which I have accessed from the source have seriously impressed me with the manner in which the Hebrew-Christian Scriptures have been dissected and analysed.
To that end I was initially disappointed when I discovered that the book was not in fact primarily a study of Islam in itself. However, the book does indeed address many of the aspects of Islam and goes to some length to reveal to the reader that the God of the Bible and the God of Islam are definitely NOT one and the same Person.
These potentially contentious issues are approached sensitively and respectively with appropriate references being made in relation to the Hebrew-Christian Scriptures and the Islamic Holy books to clarify this point from the perspective of both sides. The text revealing from the Holy Bible that the God of the Bible has a Son, Jesus Christ, whereas the God of Islam, Allah, is described in the Quran as having no son whatsoever. Other pivotal differences between the two religions are also addressed with due reference to the above sources.
This book is described as specifically being written out of a burden for the Church and as a "wake-up call for Christians" with the book declaring that due to the ravages of secularisation and other similar "distractions", the Church has largely turned it's back upon God and left a vacuum which is allegedly being increasingly filled by Islam.
The reader is shown where the Church has failed in so many areas and where repentance and renewal are so desperately needed.
Some might disagree with some observations of the writer, but this study presents an absorbing case to answer and honestly addresses these issues whilst pointing the Church in the right direction.
The writer addresses the situation primarily in the United Kingdom, but it is clearly evident that the message applies equally throughout the Western World.
This is not a scare-mongering book, but a very courageous, significant, and extremely important work which I highly recommend. It is extremely well presented and will hold the reader's attention throughout. Thank you.
Good.... if you like David Pawson
I suspect you will find 2 extremes of review here. Those who like David pawson's style will rate this book highly. Those who don't, and those who aren't Christians will hate this book. There is no middle ground.
This is written from the point of view that Jesus is the only way to God, that Christianity is more than a religion, and that the Church over the millennia has mis-sold Jesus to the world, peddling instead some half baked mumbo jumbo to try to make people feel better. As a result, other religions, and Islam in particular are now more popular than Christianity in this country. This book is an attempt to change that around. Therefore, if you can't agree with the first sentence, you won't like this book.
If you can agree with it, this book will challenge some of your assumptions about Islam, Christianity, and what is important.
A great book
This is a good introduction to Islam (if you don't know anything about it), contrasting it with the central concepts of Christianity.
I agree with the first reviewer, afpalmer2, that it is a book for Christians. I thought this was fairly clear from the synopsis, so I don't know what he was expecting. He is right that some of the comments are politically incorrect, but Pawson is trying to stay true to the Bible and his own faith, neither of which are PC! As a person who studies the Bible quite a bit, I can't say I found any of his arguments weak. Dugroberts' review is far more accurate. This book is a 'wake-up call to Christians'.
A clear, well-written book, in harmony with the Bible, looking at the serious threat Islam poses to Western Christians: where it differs from Christianity, and in reply, what Christians need to focus on.
