it works !
i bought this for my parents house as they've 3 cats that insist on having meat in their bowls all day which attract alot of flies into the kitchen.

i deliberatly bought a unit which can cover a large area and havent been disapointed, the unit comes with a decent length power cable (aprox 3ft) though if you havent a power point that is high up the wall this may cause problems, a chain to allow you to hang it or screws and rawlplugs if you wish to wall mount. after i fitted the screw to the wall i fitted the unit and it caught it's first victim inside 5 mins and has continued keeping the kitchen fly free since. As mentioned earlier, i bought this unit due to its ability to cover a large area and by leaving the downstairs doors open when possible, especially at night, there are now litterally no flies anywhere dowstairs and very rarely upstairs.

the unit has a pullout draw to allow the "results" to be disposed of and removal of this automatically switched the unit off to prevent accidents if you forget to switch off and / or unplug first.

one little point to watch for is to check there are no small pieces of packaging material in the power grid before you switch it on for the first time

Vermatik Fly Zapper
Based on the above reviewers comments I went ahead and bought one of these. I must admit I was a little cautious because it is quite a lot of money and having bought cheaper fly killer lamps before which don't work at all, I was sceptical. However, this is brilliant. I live in the countryside where just opening the door lets at least two flies in and at night the entire gnat and midge population. This zapper gets them all and I take great pleasure in checking out the pull-out tray to see how many have died today...

Very disappointed
I live in the countryside and have been plagued by flies since the local farmer manured his field in the middle of the recent heatwave. I bought this zapper thinking that it would kill the little blighters by the dozen, but after a week's operation it has only killed 4! I have tried installing it in several different locations but the flies give it no more than a passing glance. I'm very disappointed and £35 worse off!
