In response to the strong demand for affordable, easy-to-use technology, satellite navigation pioneer Navman has launched its latest entry-level, in-car system the iCN330. This simple, portable, pocket-sized solution will work straight out of the box in any car.

The iCN330 boasts three dimensional, moving maps to help you navigate through your journey more easily. A progress bar and distance indicator turns red to give you advanced warning to your next turn. In addition, a free drive function allows you to see moving maps without having to enter a specific destination a great feature if you already know the route but want to follow the map as you drive.

Any route can be planned quickly and easily. The iCN330 carries out a fast and accurate search for a particular area, a town, a street or a junction. The system can even direct you to a town centre or to a specific house number. You can also enter the postcode if you know it and the iCN330 will take you to that location as well. Clear turn-by-turn voice instructions are provided via a quality integrated speaker. And don't worry if you somehow take a wrong turn, as Back on Track" will instantly re-route you in the right direction.

The high resolution LCD screen display shows clear and accurate information for the driver, including large directional arrows, distance-to-turn bar and junction maps. Menus can be navigated quickly and easily using the five-way keypad and soft key buttons. The device is also fully portable and easy to install and remove from your car.

Satellite navigation systems have become the must-have gadget for any driver wanting to get from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible. Sales of sat-nav systems soared last Christmas, as more affordable devices came to the market. Once again Navman has filled the gap in the market for affordable satellite navigation. OK - unless you live in NI.
This claims to have 'UK maps' what it actually has is a GB map and a supplementary map of Northern Ireland drawn from memory on the back of an envelope by someone who had visited Belfast some time ago. It is dire: even when it recognises the placenames it is often wildly inaccurate. It takes you along the wrong routes and routinely issues misdirections. I was once told to 'go to the nearest road' while driving along a (twenty year old) twelve lane motorway into the centre of Belfast. I have used this in England and Scotland and it is OK, but for this part of the UK you may as well use the map on the back cover of a European atlas. Buy one of the Garmin Nuvi boxes instead.

Fantastic Budget Sat Nav
This is the 1st Sat Nav unit I've owned, however I'm a bit of a consumer electronics geek and I know what to expect from a good product. This budget sat nav really blew me away. I bought one in the USA (with USA maps, of course) for a 2 months road trip around America.

The mapping data (for the USA) was VERY accurate and I was most impressed. In 2 months of constant daily use it only crashed once. The lack of a touch screen didn't seem to hinder me at all. It is VERY simple to use. A major bonus is that you don't need to use a computer to reload different maps as you move around. It's all stored on the supplied 2GB memory card! It's sturdy, the dash mount is secure and ... well ... I really can't fault this little unit. I'm indebted to navman for getting me out a few scrapes when on my trip :).

NAVMAN ICN 330
This sat nav is fantastic for the price. It works straight out of the box and got me to my destinations quickly and easy. Even if you take a wrong turn it puts you back on track so no worries. The days of pulling over to the side of the road and fiddling with stupid maps are over. Just type in the postcode or address and get to your destination with no stress.
