WAAS a load of hype..
This is a good solid little performer. I've used mine in foul weather and it has taken everything in it's stride (though it normally lives in a Tatonka phone pouch on my hip belt!). However all the hype about the improved WAAS accuracy is exactly that- so much hype. I HAVE NEVER HAD BETTER ACCURACY THAN -/+ 30 FEET with this unit. My old Etrex would get -/+ 10 feet pretty much all the time but sadly conked out leading to the 201 as a replacement. But providing the 30 feet error is acceptable this is a solid little GPS ideal for reserve use when the map-reading gets a little wobbly!
GPS in wet and cloud
In general I think this product is excellent but have found a situation where it does not work. This is in very damp conditions with heavy grey cloud. The device asked me if I was indoors or whether I had moved hundreds of miles since I last used it. Yet previously it had actually worked indoors. Presumably this is similar to all GPS systems.
small, tough and reliable
Good reliable gps, accurate readings and a very handy size. It's pretty rugged and tough. My only concern is that, taking only AAA batteries it eats power therefore "be prepared" and take spares. Nothing fancy, just a good handy tool that does the job well.
