Customer Reviews
This item solved a problem for me.
I have recently acquired a Smart car and I tried using my Tomtom One sat nav fixed to the windscreen. The problem with this is that due to the design of the Smart the sat nav was so far away from ones' reach it was impossible to adjust it, or even turn it off very easily so I looked around for an alternative.
After reading users' reviews I decided to purchase a pair of Duragadget dashboard mounts. These are a cheap way of solving the problem but you need to improvise a bit. The disc mounts are black plastic discs with a shallow rim edge to them and have an adhesive back to them. I fitted mine to the dash just above the air conditioning unit. The one problem is that the suction unit supplied with the tomtom seems to be designed to work with glass and does not seem to adhere to plastic- well not for long.
Anyway-the way I got over this was to peel off the adhesive disc from the second mount and use this on the top surface of the one fixed to the car and the fix the Tomtom mount to this. It works a treat, though you will need to leave the Tomtom mount in place all the time. I am looking out for something like a small mirror that I can fix inside the dashboard mount- the Tomtom suction should work on this ok. The advantage of this will be that I will then be able to remove the Tomtom mount when I wish.
Do Not Waste Your Money
This product is simply not fit for its purpose. It will stick to the Dashboard providing you do not attach the Tom Tom, It is simply a waste of money and not reccommended
velcro
I too had problems relating to the disk sticking to my dash, but I purchased round velcro pads which were good fit and used these to stick disk to dash-no problems whatsoever, and can be removed for security reasons. The added bonus was that the disk was slightly raised from dash and allowed more free space to access the car charger cable.
