A must have to help learn Adobe Premiere CS4/CS35
First things first the British voice is good to hear but in truth I never had that much of a problem with the american voices used in numerous adobe products I have used in the past (which had their own training element with them). The information is provided in a clear and concise fashion and is of true benefit for anyone who really wants to get into this software. I think the most useful part of this is that the training guide gives an excellent grounding in the basics before dipping further into the more technical elements of the software. When you have used this video training package you gain a full appreciation of how powerful Premiere is and how easy it can be to use. This is really well done and well worth buying if you want to get more up close and personal with Adobe Premiere.

    Great with Photoshop5
I'm a complete novice looking to get started with Adobe Premiere. I bought this training DVD along with Mediaroots' Photoshop DVD and they're building me up to speed well. As a complete beginner I needed something that would take me from the complete basics upwards and that's exactly what I've received, the presenter starts out as if teaching someone who's never opened Premiere before. I really like his teaching style and look forward to completing the whole DVD.

    Training for media professionals5
I have used Adobe's Premiere Elements 7 for a while (also reviewed for Amazon) so I thought I would see if this training package could offer me any advice or help. I was not overly impressed with the Elements software, to be honest, for the reasons given in my review of that product, and this training video has not changed that opinion very much.

The training is, as it says, aimed at the CS4 and CS3 versions, which are very expensive professional level software packages, with many more features than the much cheaper Elements version. Whilst there are a few features from Elements covered here, the main reason for purchasing this training would be for the many additional facilities of a full Pro version.

The video itself is for use on a computer only - PC or MAC - it will not play on a normal DVD player. It is aimed at a very specific professional market, and will not really be much use to a beginner and with a recommended price of around £70 would not be a very attractive option for novices.

Mediaroots have created a professional product for their target audience, however, and instructor Adam Stokoe is very familiar with his subject matter. He is BBC trained and was instrumental in the setup of the international version of news channel Al Jazeera, so is experienced in real life broadcast production. This is really a product for media professionals and users of Elements, like myself, will not benefit much as a lot of features demonstrated are not available. However, as a professional training package I would have no hesitation giving five stars to this Core Training Video for its intended market.
