nice pictures.
Overall this title is extremely superficial. Whilst it includes several hundred screen shots from the game itself. There are virtually no work in progress pictures and the technical explanations are limited at best.
Also the book is inaccurate, listing several shots from Gran Turismo 1 and 2 as being from GT4, despite the obvious drop in quality. It also contains very little text other than harping about how wonderful the game is or its considerable success.
The only redeeming feature is that it is cheap and the quality of the printing/screen shots is excellent.
Minimalisitic in a beautiful way
Some of the afore mentioned reviews refer to inaccuracies and an apparent linearity with reference to the production cycle of this 'almost perfect game'. For fans of the game this book charts an insight from concept through to production, rendering a progressive realisation of the developers aspirations. Anyone that has played for extensive periods are likely to surmise that the developers achieved all that they set out to do. Granted this book is perhaps better read after extended play, where upon retrospection, the remarkable achievements attained by the game developers becomes apparent. An excellent companion perhaps more suited to the true enthusiast.
