Hitting Back With A #1!4
This is the album that fans had been waiting for and it was a true surprise. The Gibb Brothers opened up with the frenzied rock paced "E.S.P." and a video. It is a great song that was not what the American public wanted to hear - it went ignored. The anthemic "You Win Again" fared better, but still languished near the Top 100; reaching #1 in England! Go figure! The rest of the album is a hodgepodge collection. "Giving Up The Ghost" (originally titled "Babysitter") is a great funky, clavinet/synthesizer number and "This Is Your Life" funkifies itself as well, cleverly using dozens of former Bee Gees songs as lyrics! The third single to be released in the U.S. (but never was) was "The Longest Night". Seems the Gibbs had only so much comeback power in the old U.S.A. Highlights are also "Angela", a power ballad like no other and Maurice's "Overnight", a tepid rocker. "Backtafunk" is just too predicable and ordinary and why "Crazy For Your Love" was released as a single on other parts of the world is a wonder. However, it is a great collection if only for "E.S.P." and "You Win Again". Enjoy!

Truly a Classic- I Challenge Anyone to beat this! Superb!5
This is a truly brilliant album. It has the potential to be one of the best albums ever! I think that only one artist could even dream to make an album this good- themselves!

The Bee Gees show that they aren't just a disco group, that they were expected to be after the huge success of 'Saturday Night Fever'. They combine excellent lyrics with extraordinary lyrics and music, all of which they write alone- just the three of them. Maurice shows that he CAN sing with a song in which he sings lead vocals- 'Overnight', a superb song with a very catchy and simple chorus.

If you are not familiar with this great band, then you really are missing out. All of their albums are amazing- and this one is no exception. Buy it and marvel at their incredible talents. Utterly wonderful.

Thank you Bee Gees, you have brought music to life with your impeccable songs.

Back to their best5
This is the first Bee Gees album I have bought and I certainly was not disappointed.

The song of the album title, ESP, is a good song but maybe with a weak chorus compared to the rest of the song. You Win Again is one of the Bee Gees' best tracks and was a worldwide number 1 so that says it all. Live or Die is the Bee Gees at their harmonic best with a slow, chamring melody with their associated 'high voices.' The other songs are worth mention as well but for me the track 'This is Your Life' is a unique one. The lyrics are to be marvelled at as Barry Gibb uses the song titles and lyrics from earlier hits to create a song version of the TV show 'This is Your Life' charting the Bee Gees success through the years. My personal favourite track on this is 'Overnight' although it is quite hard to make a definitive choice since they're all good songs. If only they had released more tracks from this album into the singles chart then we would definitely be seeing the all time #1 song writer, Barry Gibb. But unfortunately, to my knowledge, they only released the first 2 tracks.

Whereas modern artists today tend to have albums where each song sounds the same, this is a refreshing change to have. It proves once and for all that the Bee Gees are one of the best groups of all time. Buy this now and you will certainly not regret it..... If you love the Bee Gees, you will love this. If you love the 80s, you'll love this. And if you love great songs, then this is for you. A winner all the way.
