CD Description
This aural document of the 1998 concert that was broadcast exclusively on HBO serves double duty as a career resume forthe Gibb brothers. The trio may be a little long in the tooth, and the top end of Barry's Aussie-soul-man falsetto may have lost a bit, but the group's trademark harmonies are still up to snuff. They wisely forgo any attempt at heady "artistic statements" in favor of that time-honored practice, playing the hits. By the '90s, the Bee Gees had attained "survivor" status, so just showing up was enough to endear them tothe assembled faithful. Fortunately for listeners, the band's songs (the selection runs from the '60s through the '90s)stand the test of time quite well, and the Gibbs are still showmen enough to put their compositions across with a genuine sense of excitement. The concert being the media event itwas, fans will likely forgive their heroes for the Celine Dion guest appearance.

The Final Amazing Concert!
"One Night Only" is a good a masterpiece of live recording as 1977's "Here At Last...Bee Gees...Live" was. All the great songs are here, plus a few odd album cuts that truly make this set shine. Highlights include, "Grease" with a thunderous crowd roaring approval; "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away', a true tearjerker with prerecorded Andy Gibb singing with his brothers and "Immortality", with a wonderful Celine Dion backed by the brothers. The CD is crisp, clean and clear. It is amazing to hear such fantastic producers who's studio recordings sound the same in concert. This is a classic CD!

Fantastic!
I purchased this cd in 1999 when I was in Australia and I have played it to death hence the necessity to buy a new one. 'Our Love' featuring brother Andy is my favourite track and, although I cannot stand Celine Dion, the track 'Immortality' is beautiful. Well worth buying if you love their music as it spans about three decades and includes some real classics.

BeeGees: One Night Only
One of the last Cd's where Maurice performes live. All of BeeGees favorites with a few surprises. There is a tribute to their younger brother Andy and a few songs that were never performed live. Great if you have been a BeeGees fan or great first purchase.
