Customer Reviews
An enjoyable and interesting book.
I was not really interested in the history of greyhounds, but have been contemplating adopting one. I received this book as a gift, and enjoyed it much more than I expected. She makes it interesting with some amazing stories, with some astronomical numbers in some cases. The most interesting part is her own experiences with these dogs. A good read.
Already written by Microsoft
I do not think for one minute that the woman knows what she is talking about. Has she any idea of the way they are treated. Hung from trees in Ireland, their ears cut off to stop identification. I have rescued Greyhounds, so I know what I am talking about. If you want more information then look for it on the internet. You will see pictures you will never forget.
Disappointed reader
As a devotee of Greyhounds I really looked forward to reading this book, but sadly was disappointed. Apart from the cover, the illustrations are appalling. There is no excuse whatever for reproductions like these, given todays technology. While much of the text is interesting some of the statistics seem doubtful. The part dealing with the present day welfare of the ex-racing Greyhound might have been written in Cloud Cuckoo Land.
I wish that I had donated the purchase price to Greyhound Rescue!
