Product Description

Young, talented, and ambitious, Dr Eric Najarian has all the qualities they're looking for at White Memorial Hospital. What Eric doesn't know is that he's being watched. And judged. An elite clique of medical professionals thinks he has what it takes to join their secret club. All the young doctor has to do is agree to play by their rules. But Eric has already seen too much. A missing body. An unspeakable mutilation. A brutal abduction. It's only the beginning of a terrifyingly evil plot, a sinister plan the group will stop at nothing to hide. And if Eric refuses to become their colleague - he will be their next victim...

Customer Reviews

A suspense thiller, full of murder,deceit,and a little love.5
Michael Palmer's "Extreme Measures": From start to finish, Mr. Palmer's book kept me interested. The characters were well-developed, plot easy to follow, and the story full of suspense. The main characters, a doctor and scuba dive instructor, fall in love despite the terrible occurences at White Memorial where doctor Najarian works. Friends turn out to be enemies, possible enemies turn out to be friends (sometimes), and it seems that neither can trust anyone but each other and themselves. This book has a lot of medical jargon and some voodoo. I find that if I can read a book in one day, then it is worth reading again. I read this book in about 9 hours in a car so it is definitely worth your time.

Great read!5
I bought this as a throwaway to read on holiday and was absolutely hooked until the end. Fantastic plot, good solid characters, and very well written. This should definately be made into a film and I am now a confirmed fan - I will be buying more by Michael Palmer!

Surprising excellent read!5
I am not one into mysteries OR medical-related novels, so this book was more of something to pass the time away with this summer..... WOW! I am surprised, it is a GOOD read. Palmer is an educated man... putrafication IS the only sure sign of death.... *S* and did you catch the little "pun" with Yossarian? *S* This is an excellent, quick-read. I am encouraged to look into more Palmer books.
