Brilliant - especially if this isn't your first baby
I love this book - it's fantastic, particularly when it's so hard to find a pregnancy journal that's suitable whether it's your first, second or more pregnancies. It's also the first I've seen that even has the option to record a home birth rather than hospital.
If you're looking for something that's funny too then this is a must - it's not cutesy at all, but has sections for each trimester that says "I've been seriously jonesin' for" where you list the food you've loved and then "The thought of eating this is totally repulsive". Hilarious sections like "Honey can you please come hold back my hair: all the fun and gory details about morning (noon?)(night?) sickness" and "Scooter, Champ & Mr Bubble: inexplicable belly/baby nicknames".
The design of the book is lovely, it has curved pages that get wider for each trimester like a belly outline. It also has a section where you put a weekly photo of your belly so you get a timelapse effect of belly growth which is fun. It's a bit silly to start from week 1 but you could put pictures of yourself from then before you knew you were pregnant. As it's spiral bound you can also rip out any pages you don't want without it showing.
I would definitely get this book again for subsequent pregnancies, I think it's brilliant and it is actually a journal in that you can write how you're feeling week by week, with occasional prompts on some weeks like "more things I miss from life-before-the-belly: _walking sans waddle, _my lap, _normal undies"!
A must for expectant mum's!
This is something that you can do for your baby so when they ask what it was like durning your pregnancy, you can simply hand them this book. It's absolutely brilliant and laid out in a manner that is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to do. It's also quite funny and should put a smile on your face as you do it. A must have for those expecting, along with You Know You're Pregnant When. Reflections on the Longest Nine Months of My Life.
A simple & amusing journal, not for first baby though.
This is a nice journal although it wasn't for me. It does have amusing quips throughout but it lacked something special. It doesn't have any pockets for keepsakes and has a page per week to take a photo of your growing bump which seems a bit of a waste as I'm sure no one's tummy changes that much in a week. (Plus some of us may not want a reminder of what our tummy looks like especially if it's not your first!)
If you want something simple and quick to fill in that isn't sweet or over the top then this journal will be perfect for you and therefore perfect for busy Mums. If this is your first pregnancy I wouldn't recommend it as I think first time parents like to record absolutely everything and this journal doesn't give you that option.
