Wow....read this NOW5
What an unbelievably well written book, it tells the story of Skylar Deleon who murdered a lovely retired couple to obtain their $450,000 boat and what he thought were millions in the bank....helped by his young wife who was pregnant with their second child. Incidentally, Skylar had murdered one of his friends a few weeks earlier for $50,000 but the pair had already frittered his cash and needed to make some more. This book disgusted me, not only that Skylar so coldly went about murdering people to steal the type of cash he could only ever dream of earning but also that his wife Jennifer (who was from a nice home with respectable parents) readily helped him and even paraded their cute little daughter to the murdered couple to help gain their trust. My only fault of the whole book is that it concluded before telling what Skylars fate was in court...but, having read a little about it on the internet it is still rather up in the air so I have to forgive the author on that one! I would urge anybody who enjoys true crime books to read this ASAP it is one of the best I have read in a long time and I know for a fact I wont forget about it for a long long time. Hard to believe people like this exist and for a time manage to get away with such horrendous acts, I was more than happy to read Jennifer got life without the possibility of parole and Skylar now has an appointment on death row. Good!
