Product Description

Painting Murals demonstrates how to create your own murals, large or small, not only on walls and ceilings, but also on other surfaces, such as floors, shutters and screens. All the practical aspects of painting murals - materials, equipment, preparing the surface, choosing a subject and style and how to transfer your design - are covered in the first part of the book. This is followed by eight special projects, illustrated step-by-step with full-colour photographs, taken from design to completion. Anyone who has yearned to paint a mural in their home - perhaps in the bathroom, in a child's room or on a garden wall - but never quite had the confidence to carry it out will find Painting Murals to be an indispensible source of information and inspiration.

An absolute must for any Mural Enthusiast5
As a working Mural Artist I found this book invaluable, it offers a fresh approach to the techniques used within our craft. The Subjects covered include a wealth of paint effects including Stonework and Woodgraining. How to deal with perspective, Subject Matter and composition. It deals with Interior and Exterior surfaces, Paint Requirements and Functions informing you of the advantages and disadvantages of all. In addition it offers interesting projects to newcomers along with a wealth of ideas to feed the imagination. This is a really comprehensive book, if you are in the trade and never buy another book in your life on this subject make sure you buy this one, it will serve you well.

A good practical and creative guide4
I am lucky enough to be 'arty' and and thinking of turning this into a business painting murals, hence buying this book. It is always good to get fresh inspriration on the creative side however this book is best (in my opinion) at providing good practical guidance on getting your artwork onto such a large area - having done some murals before, I found painting on such a large scale was the most challenging aspect. Plenty of advice on transferring your design, what paint to use, equipment etc.
