An Involving story for 4-year olds
My 4-year old son loves this story and knows all the interesting points, and joins in. It is a perfect bed-time story which keeps his interest and involvement. I am trying hard to find another book of equal quality for him.
An enchanting story about the last North Pole penguin.
Maybe there never have been North Pole penguins, but perhaps, once, there were...
In this enchanting story, Penguin Small is the last remaining North Pole penguin, and all because he is afraid of swimming. The bad-tempered polar bears unwittingly start Penguin Small and his friend the snowman, on a magical journey across the world's oceans.
The illustrations on the foldout pages are fabulous and bring this delightful story to life. If you like a story with a happy ending, you will love Penguin Small!
Great book for adult and children alike
Once again a great story by Mick Inkpen. A story about a penguin who can't swim. Makes friends with a snowman and a whale on his journey from the north pole to the south pole. Some fantastic touches, like rubbing out the snowman's mouth so he can't tell the polar bears where the penguin is hiding (under his hat!) some great animals (a neverwasanocerous) and a little rhyme at the end to tell anyone who hadn't realised that penguins don't live in the north pole and they can't fly!
