Such a book should not go unread
Out of the Girls' Room and into the Night is a book with no compare. Each story is completely different, yet each has the same idea; that life, love and happiness are not handed to you, but are in the way you look at things. I wish everyone could read it, but yet I could still somehow keep it to myself, like a secret. All the stories are engaging and somewhat familiar, as if Nissen knows just how it feels to experience the worst and best parts of life Nissen's characters are complex and full of life. I am imediately sucked into their lives where they question love, sickness, and their futures. All the stories ended in unique twists of irony that opened up the doors for beautiful endings that left you smiling - and crying. An old friend sees the mask of her friend's lies. A college student, after an amazing summer with an amazing person, dosen't know if things will ever be the same. A young girl has to decide between old loyalties and new knowledge. A man who runs an animal adoption center must decide who to trust and when to follow his instinct. These stories are so maturly written, and yet they focus on such simple things in life. Such a book should not go unread.
