A superb introduction to orchids and orchid growing
This is a clear and readable introduction to growing and identifying orchids which also boasts plenty of more substantial fare for more experienced orchid growers. It's all written in accessible language so is never off-putting and the hundreds of colour photos (by the author) are wonderful.

flowery and aromatic like a modern indian meal
I first started reading this book after watching a remarkable film staring Peter Sellers. He played the part of a humble gardener who was mistaken for a wise and incisive thinker, a man whose ideas would better the world and consequently became the US President's confident. The book was a welcome reminder of the power of nature, and how we should learn from it. The flowers were beautiful and intoxicating in their vivid colours and arosed a strong sense of sexuality in there structure. Judy White must be an extraordinary lady of refined manners and an exquisite eye for the smallest detail. I'm sure after reading this book I would find Miss White's company a real pleasure to be in and hopefully she would feel the same way towards me. I strongly recommend you read this in times of depression for it will doubtlesslt cheer you up no end.
