China Bayles really gets caught short by Ruby this time. Why is Ruby behaving so strangely? And why won't she tell China? On top of this, the mistletoe supplier hasn't delivered the goods, for the best possible reason - he's dead.
The sub-plot in this book, and the characters, are better than the main plot, which is a little extravagent; but it's still a good continuation of the series, and the answer to Ruby's personal mystery strikes home.
