When Juliet Porter's mother dies, she leaves Juliet some old letters and a photograph which shatter all her previously-held beliefs. They show that her real father was an American bomber pilot in the second world war, some forty years before, and that he had met her mother while serving in England. Armed only with this photo, Juliet sets out to trace her real father, and eventually finds the airfield where he served. In 1943, Juliet's mother Dalsy is in the WAAF and stationed at the airfield which is taken over by the American airmen at a moment's notice. She falls in love with a bomber pilot who is then posted missing, presumed dead; pregnant and grieving, she marries a long-term admirer only to discover, at the end of the war, that her pilot had survived...

From the Back Cover
When Juliet Porter's mother dies, she leaves her a letter and an old second world war photograph, which reveal a shattering secret. The father she had known and loved dearly until the end of his life had not been her father after all. Instead, it seems that she is the daughter of an American bomber pilot who is completely unaware of her existence. Without knowing his name and with only the photograph to help her, Juliet sets out to search for her real father.
The task of tracing him proves both daunting and difficult. The trail is old and cold, and seemingly best left undisturbed, but Juliet feels compelled to go on, driven by a desperate need to find her father. Her search takes her back to the old wartime Suffolk airfield where her mother fell in love with the American pilot in 1942, and, eventually, to California where in the end end she meets not only her past but also her future.
A superbly romantic wartime saga by the bestselling author of Our Yanks

Wonderful, enthralling read
This is the second book by Margaret Mayhew that I have read and I was very much impressed with it. I'll be seeing you is set in both the past and the present and is combined beautifully. The characters are realistic and I found that I could not put the book down until I had finished it. I felt as though I was actually able to feel Ham and Daisy's love for each other. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in war time love and loss, Margaret just seems to be able to pull you into the story that she has written. A winner!!
Gentle people in powerful times
Daisy and Ham had a love that transceded time. Theirs was a unique story, but so bittersweet. In those days, Daisy had no choice but to accept Vernon's proposal of marriage. In hindsight, if only she had waited, what a life she would have had. But only we the readers are privilged to know that. The pattern returns for Juliet. If only she had waited a few weeks to hear from her mom's old WAAF friend, the mystery of who her father was would have solved itself.
But Daisy's life with Ham was not to be. Their only connection over time was a song and a daughter.
A well written story, lots of authenic details of the times and wonderful, warm characters.
FANTASTIC
This is one of the best books I have read this year so far. The author captures your imagination as soon as you start reading, the story line revolves around the mother who has just died and has left a letter for her daughter, who then finds out that her real father was in fact an american pilot during the war, the daughter stunned by what she is reading is intrigued and can not stop thinking who this man might be, of course curiosty then takes over and believe me you can not put this book down, you too will be wanting to know, it really pulls at your heart strings and I am glad to say has a very happy ending.
